Hello, a bit about me
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker focused on providing counseling and other social work supports primarily for individuals struggling with issues related to substance abuse and dependence. I have my own private practice in my home town of Knoxville, Tennessee.
I have almost 30 years of training and experience in employing proven, successful treatment methods for the kinds of problems my patients present. These include behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and mindfulness therapy for substance use recovery. I also am trained and implement educational and counseling methods of the Prime for Life program, a prevention-oriented model to help people who have undergone potential crises from experiences with substance use
Our Services
Our assessments include alcohol and drugs assessment as well as mental health assessments. They incluse both court order and for individual needs
Our behavior therapy is teaching the triggers that are ofter associated with addiction and giving the individuals the tools to address these triggers.
Mindfulness therapy is a relatively new concept but one that has shown much progress in the recent past. It has worked well in other areas of mental health treatment and when taught properly has shown the same positive progress when addressing substance abuse.
